Animation: the Blue DoodleMate drawing a cactus from the card in its slot
It draws one stroke at a time — slow enough for a child to follow along.

DoodleMate™ Drawing Robot

Pick a card · press go · draw along — no app, no Wi-Fi, no screen.

Most "learn to draw" toys hand a child a book and leave them to it. DoodleMate sits on the paper next to them and does the hard part — it breaks a picture into strokes and lays them down in order, slowly, so a child who says "I can't draw" watches a cat appear and realises they can. They trace it, colour it, and then do the next one themselves.

It is a quiet, hands-on, screen-free thing to put in front of a child who would otherwise be handed a tablet — which is exactly why it works as a gift.

How it works

1Pick a card Slot an illustrated card into the top. Animals, vehicles, shapes, everyday objects — hundreds of subjects.
2Press go The arm lowers the marker and draws the picture stroke by stroke, with music playing while it works.
3Draw along Your child follows the strokes, adds colour, and finishes the piece. Then they try the next one on their own.
Animation: the variety of step-by-step drawing card subjects
Animals, vehicles, shapes, characters — a new subject every time they sit down.

Watch it actually work

Real footage, not a render. Slot a card in, press the button, and the arm works its way through the picture one stroke at a time — slowly enough that a child can follow it and then colour the result in themselves.

What buyers in Australia say

★★★★★
I purchased this as a gift for my grandchildren. They absolutely love it. It really kept them entertained, so much so one of their friends requested one for their birthday. Easy to set up and use. Not a cheap gift but well worth the money.

This was a Christmas gift for my daughter. She loves it. It works as described. Easy to charge. My daughter can set it up easily. The pictures are of a good quality. … Buys me a good 30 minutes each time I pull it out to get some other stuff done, knowing she is having fun and entertained.

Perfect for my 5 year old daughter. The drawing is good quality, the mechanism is pretty clever. Kids can make their own scenes with multiple drawings on the same paper. Just make sure the robot sits on the paper so it doesn’t move by accident. I’d recommend it for a fun kids present!

Questions, answered

Does it need an app, Wi-Fi or a screen? No. Everything happens on the device. Slot a card in and press go.

Does it need batteries? No — it has a built-in rechargeable battery and charges over the included USB-C cable.

What does it draw on? Ordinary paper, or the reusable drawing board in the box so they can wipe it and start again.

What's the difference between Pink and Blue? The card deck and pens. Pink includes 150 cards and 5 drawing pens; Blue includes 100 cards and 2 drawing pens. Everything else is the same.

Can my child use it on their own? Once you have shown them the card slot, yes — that is rather the point. Younger children will want a hand with the markers at first.
