Bambury
The Zippora Picnic Rug from Bambury is a super-large 200 x 200cm rug with three layers of fabric, a diamond-quilted printed top and a plain reverse. It is water resistant, so damp ground stays where it belongs, and the fabric is silky-smooth, so sand and leaves do not cling to it. When lunch ends up on it, it machine washes.
At 200 x 200cm it is a genuine family-size rug. Plenty of room for the food in the middle and people around the edges.
Three layers of fabric make it comfortable to sit on and stop the damp coming through from the grass underneath.
The rug is water resistant, which handles dew, damp lawn and the odd spilled drink. It is not intended to be sat in a puddle.
The fabric is silky-smooth to the touch, which means sand, grass clippings and leaves do not stick to it the way they do to a towel. Lift it, shake it, done.
Loops at the corners let you peg it down when the wind picks up at the beach or the park.
Unlike many picnic rugs, this one can go in the washing machine: cold, gentle cycle, line dry in the shade.
The top is diamond-quilted in Bambury's Zippora design of birds, waves, flowers and geometric shapes in blue, green, peach and purple. The reverse is a plain colour.
It comes with a brown leather-look strap, so it rolls up and carries neatly to the car.
Park picnics, carols by candlelight, outdoor movies, camping trips and family holidays. One rug covers all of them.
