Is assembly required?
Light assembly — about 10 minutes with the included Allen key. The frame is pre-built; you'll attach the handlebar, pedals, training wheels and (optionally) the parent handle. After that first assembly, all five mode conversions are tool-free.
My child is 1.5 years old — too young?
Walker mode (Mode 2) suits walking-confident toddlers from around 18 months. Drop the saddle to its lowest setting and use the parent handle. If they can stand and walk independently, they can use this mode.
How long until they outgrow it?
Most families get four years of use through the mode progression. Around age 5–6, when balance and confidence are locked in, kids typically move to a larger fixed-frame bike. The LittleVelo holds resale value well — the secondary market in Australian toddler bikes is strong.
Will it survive being dropped, dragged, left in the rain?
Yes — within reason. The frame is powder-coated steel, the wheels are puncture-resistant air-look EVA, and the moving parts are sealed. We've had families report 3+ years of daily use without major issues. Don't leave it submerged.
Is the parent handle steerable?
It's stabilising rather than steering — your child still controls the handlebar. The parent handle is for safety tethering and tow mode. This is intentional: it lets your child build genuine balance and steering skill from day one rather than relying on you.
